The Corruption of Middenheim
Once a year, the eight colleges of magic meet to discuss new advances in magic theory and ritual development. Taken place in a location chosen a month beforehand and with invites sent out magically, only those who are tied to a college or of reputable note are allowed in. Representatives from the High Elves are also present, more to investigate human knowledge of magic than to contribute to discussions.
The symposium is a three day event, with numerous speakers in the main atrium. Since many powerful wizards are gathered in one spot, wards are placed over the building, and adventurers have been known to be hired as “bodyguards” for some of the less physical wizards (However, they may not enter the atrium, but can browse the side rooms and discussions with ease).
Each college sends many graduates to the event, but only a few actually represent on the stage. Each college is supposed to show some new development or insight to the rest, although live demonstrations are typically set to be performed in designated areas. Between sessions each day, wizards can browse college-sponsored classes and viewings, as well as visit their room for the night (a bubble dimension was created just to house everyone during the meets).
